Georgia will beat Kent State today, tomorrow, next week
[3–0 with wins against Oregon, Samford, and South Carolina]
The game is at noon, and pending an apocalyptic event, Georgia will win. If such an event were to occur, football might not be your top priority. Then again, football is always somebody’s top priority. That fire next time could be swallowing up the downtown churches and parking decks and betting sites would still be seeing action. Hell, some people might even bet on the fire. But all that said and worried over Georgia will end the day 4–0.
I grew up a Georgia fan, and once upon a time, I blogged about the emotions and experiences that came with growing up in Athens and believing my blood was, as a bumper sticker succinctly put it, red and black. That doesn’t seem so much as a lifetime ago now as it does another universe, and having grown up in the Ray Goff era, maybe I should think about filing that change of a universe form. Even the Mark Richt era feels like something one would have to dredge from the Okefenokee swamp waters, and the last time I blogged about the Dawgs Mark Richt was the head coach. I haven’t had anything to say about the Kirby Smart era for a number of reasons. One all-inclusive reason is that I have been too consumed with the rest of life’s offerings to write about it.
